09/10/08 Photoshop session 2 - Henok Isak

After cropping and placing my picture and began to think about how my layout will be and how would I put it in a particular way that customers will be attracted to it. I looked at real magazine covers and tried to get an idea of how they put their layout. I discovered a pattern of that there is not too much text on the front cover so I limited my text so that it would look more realistic and also because my particular magazine is mostly aimed at the working class and they do not want a lot of text on the front cover.

I then looked from a distance at my magazine and then realised that I could not really see my magazine’s main headline and this was important for people to see because it was the main attraction and the reason that issue will sale. Purple Pills, my group’s band, was the main headline so I enlarged it so that I could see it from a distance. This now became very clear.

The colour scheme I used was purple and white. White so it stood out against the black background and purple because the edition was on the group Purple Pills. The text is presented on the right and left side of the magazine is that it does not interfere with the presence of the picture. I placed another picture in the bottom left corner and after this I had finished my magazine front cover. Photoshop was very difficult to use at fist but as time went on things became easier and processes I wanted to use much faster as I new what to do. I enjoyed using this software because there are unlimited things you can do and this is very occupying.
